Ready To Act

Have you got to the point where you know you do want a relationship with Jesus?

That is fantastic! You can’t do anything in your life more important than entering that relationship and we congratulate you.

Step 1

The first step is to pray and tell God what you now want to do. You can use your own words for that but a suggested prayer is:

Dear Jesus, I thank you for loving me and for all that you have done for me. I know that I have messed up my life in various ways and have disappointed you. I am incredibly grateful that you love me never-the-less, indeed that you have loved me enough to die for me, paying the price for my sins. I ask that you will forgive me for all of the things I have done wrong,

I want to live a new life. Please come into my life. Please give me the gift of Your Holy Spirit. Please stay close to me and guide me as I start on this journey.

I have resisted You in the past but I want to be on Your team now. I want to follow You. I want to serve You. I give you my whole life. You gave Your life for me. Please come into my life. Please give me Your Holy Spirit and please help me to remain faithful.

What now?

You can be sure that, if you prayed a prayer like that, Jesus heard it. He once said that he would never turn away anyone who came to Him. He also said that there is rejoicing in heaven whenever a sinner repents. The angels in heaven have just rejoiced over you! (See Luke 15:7, 10)

You are now a brand new person. The Bible says that anyone who is “in Christ” (in other words, is in a relationship with Jesus) is a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17).

It would be wise now to go to the Growth section of this site, especially the material for new Christians.
